Karapancsai Castle and Major, Budzsak-Hódunai Park ForestKarapancsai Castle and Major, owned by Gemenc Zrt., is located 35 kilometres from Baja, near the southern border, near Hercegszántó, surrounded by the Karapancsai forest. The settlement and its surroundings, inhabited by Socacians and Serbs, were once the property of the Teschen dukes of the House of Habsburg. The ancestral park surrounding the manor is home to the small castle built by Archduke Albrecht Habsburg and the larger hunting lodge built by Archduke Frederick. The eight rooms of the forestry and hunting history exhibition area in the small manor house and the adjoining corridors present the development of the archduke's estate, the archduke's family, forestry, fishing and farming activities in the area, the ethnic groups of the area, hunting and hunting relics. A highlight of the exhibition is a replica of three world record antlers taken in the area over the past two centuries, as well as contemporary photographs and trophies of the princely hunts. The imposing large manor house and the small manor house, which houses a museum of the region's forestry, hunting, agriculture and ethnography, are complemented by a new full-service tourist centre with new accommodation facilities.
