Jelky András Square

At one of the busiest intersections, at the junction of the main roads 51 and 55, at the edge of the city centre, at a crossroads, on the square named after him, there is a lovely symbol of the people of Baja, the statue of András Jelky, born in Baja - a tailor-turned-world traveller - standing on a globe, with a wandering stick.

The bronze statue is by Ferenc Medgyessy, the reinforced concrete globe by Ferenc Miskolczy.
