The Fishing Mini Skanzen with fishing huts, the associated oven and the Shipyard, built in 2011 with the help of civil society, is located near the István Türr monument in Baja.
It was created by the Baja Boat Mill Association to revive the fishing traditions of Baja and demonstrate the practical use of fishing gear.
The most commonly used fishing gear is on display in the fish farms. Around the farmhouses, you can see fishing poles and other fishing gear hanging from slave poles. There are also two ovens in the skansen, where the "borské kalács" (pepper cake) is baked during big events, and where young people can learn about the gastronomic traditions of the Danube.
At Skanzen, a ship mill harbour has been completed on the banks of the Danube, where the power of the Danube can propel the mill wheels when the water level is right. Such a ship mill is only found in Baja on the entire stretch of the Danube. It is an enchanting sight for children and adults alike, a place where the laws of physics can be seen in practice and taught to children.
