The Gemenci Forest Railway is the only lowland forest railway in Hungary.
The trail follows the Danube and the Sió riverbeds in the Gemenci forest. Trains from the Pörböly Ecotourism Centre and the Keselyűs Inn run all year round, usually with open carriages in summer and closed, heated carriages in winter.
The 30-kilometre trail runs from Pörböly to Malomtelelő on weekdays, and to Gemenc-Dunapart station on weekends and public holidays. Trains from Keselyűs to Gemenc-Dunapart run on weekends and public holidays during the summer timetable period.
The trip can be complemented with cruises, horse-drawn carriage rides, canoeing, cycling, hiking tours, for which a guided tour is available.
