Bagolyvár

In the heart of Baja, below the Holy Trinity Square, on the Sugovica high bank, stands the Bauhaus building known since the 1930s as Bagolyvár, which once served as the home of Ferenc Miskolczy (1899-1994), painter, museum founder and local patriot and citizen of Baja.

the painter donated the property to the city of Baja along with part of his private collection during his lifetime, with the request that it be used as a memorial house after his death. The exhibition space presents the local characteristics of Baja's town history and art history periods between 1920 and 1990, the everyday life of the Baja town that was a cultural and patronising centre of culture, and the personalities who stood before us as examples, but also the secrets of a special, unique activity of founding and enriching a public collection.
